CODEBREAKER develops advanced devices to measure gastrointestinal function, focusing on gut permeability, motility, and nervous system activity. By interfacing these devices with the gut, the project aims to enhance diagnosis and treatment of digestive disorders and their connections to neurological diseases.

The gastrointestinal (GI) tract is a complex ecosystem which facilitates digestion and regulates food intake in addition to regulating immune function in order to effectively guard against pathogens while tolerating innocuous antigens.
It also acts as a sensory organ.
