The project aims to develop cognitive radio systems that utilize the newly available spectrum from the digital TV transition, enabling innovative services like mobile TV and public safety applications. It seeks to establish standards and methodologies for equipment compliance in this spectrum.
The complete transition from analogue to the digital TV is planned in Europe for 2012.
