This project investigates cognitive distortions related to eating disorders, specifically the phenomenon known as thought-shape fusion. Through a series of studies, it aims to validate a model of this distortion and explore its implications for treatment.
Cognitive distortions are characterized by faulty, irrational thought processes, and are characteristic of psychopathology.
Within the past decade, new research has emerged that suggests that there is a specific cognitive distortion associated with eating disorders.
