This project aims to advance photoacoustic imaging technology for non-invasive medical diagnostics. By manipulating coherent light, it seeks to achieve high-resolution imaging of biological tissues at greater depths, overcoming current limitations in imaging techniques.
Photoacoustic imaging is an emerging multi-wave imaging modality that couples light excitation to acoustic detection, via the photoacoustic effect (sound generation via light absorption).
