COLLDENSE focuses on the study of colloids and their responses to external fields. It aims to develop designed colloidal systems through a combination of experimental, computational, and theoretical approaches.
The etymology of the word colloid stems from the Greek word for glue.
The systematic study of colloids (as we perceive them nowadays) is considered to have begun in the middle of the 19th century.
