COMBINISO focuses on improving the understanding of water isotopic records from Antarctic ice cores to better interpret climate and water cycle changes. It employs advanced measurement techniques and modeling to analyze the impact of stratospheric water vapor and provide insights into historical temperature variations.
Climate change and associated water cycle modifications have a strong impact on polar ice sheets through their influence on the global sea-level.
The most promising tool for reconstructing temperature and water cycle evolution in Antarctica is to use water isotopic records in ice cores.
