The COMFECTION project addresses the spread of food myths and their impact on public perception regarding food safety. It aims to develop effective communication strategies to counter misinformation and promote understanding of food protection issues, including genetic modification and organic farming.
Communication is essential to effective food protection policies: if healthy habits help reduce food-related diseases and disorders, communication can enable active and responsible consumers; but it might also lead to misinformation by promoting food myths and hoaxes.
