The CAD LUS4TB project aims to improve tuberculosis diagnosis in sub-Saharan Africa by integrating artificial intelligence with lung ultrasound technology. It focuses on developing accessible tools for primary healthcare settings to enhance triage for symptomatic patients and support multi-disease assessments.
With chest X-ray and molecular tests virtually absent at the primary healthcare care level, where most patients with presumptive TB present in sub-Saharan Africa (SSA), there is a need for accessible, affordable and scalable diagnostic tools for TB triage.
