The CONFRONT project investigates the political dynamics at the edges of settler states, focusing on the conflicts over foundational principles of governance. It aims to develop a theoretical framework to analyze these metapolitical contests and their implications for Indigenous self-determination.
Between Indigenous self-determination and settler colonization lie contested frontiers, subject to metapolitics – i.e., to competition over the framing of polities.
