This project focuses on improving cancer treatment by enhancing the delivery of chemotherapeutic drugs using bioresorbable polymeric micelles. The introduction of a stable linker aims to prolong drug retention and facilitate targeted release within tumor cells.
The treatment of cancer with chemotherapeutic drugs is very often associated with severe side effects limiting their tolerated dose and leading to insufficient therapeutic effects.
The application of such drugs in nanometer-sized micelles may improve their biodistribution, but in vivo studies showed fast drug release in the blood stream.
