The CosmicBells project investigates the internal composition of neutron stars by analyzing gravitational wave signals from binary mergers. It focuses on understanding how tidal oscillations, particularly gravitational-mode oscillations, can reveal the presence of exotic matter within these dense celestial objects.
Neutron stars (NSs) are among the densest objects in our Universe, yet what constitutes their interior remains unanswered.
Recent studies suggest the existence of quark matter inside the heaviest NSs, while there is growing speculation about the presence of dark matter inside them.
