The CropLife project aims to enhance plant productivity by focusing on leaf lifespan and developing new breeding strategies. It targets crops like barley and perennial ryegrass to improve photosynthesis and delay senescence, addressing the challenges posed by climate change.
The world-wide demand for primary plant products to be used for food, feed and fuel is increasing dramatically.
