This project investigates how crowded environments within living cells affect protein mobility and stability. By using advanced simulations, it aims to understand the dynamics of proteins, particularly superoxide dismutase 1, in relation to cellular structures and crowding effects.
In living cells, proteins operate in an extremely crowded environment, which has a substantial impact on their structural and dynamical properties.
Taking into account the effects of macromolecular crowding is thus imperative for a full understanding of protein function in vivo.
