This project redefines conflict by examining the underlying incompatibilities between actors, exploring how these can lead to violence or alternative outcomes like accommodation. It aims to understand the dynamics of non-violent strategies in various conflict scenarios.
Existing research has tended to equate conflict with violence, lumping all “non-conflict” situations together.
This is unfortunate on theoretical and empirical grounds.
