The Cherenkov Telescope Array aims to create an advanced facility for observing gamma rays in the very-high-energy spectrum. It will enhance our understanding of cosmic phenomena by providing improved sensitivity and flexibility in data collection across various fields of physics.
The Cherenkov Telescope Array CTA will be the first open facility for gamma-ray astronomy in thevery-high-energy domain, with a performance which is dramatically improved over existing instruments in terms of sensitivity, energy coverage, survey capability and flexibility.
