This project investigates the politicization of indigenous identity and self-image in Colombia through ethnographic research. It focuses on how indigenous leaders use cultural concepts to claim legal rights, aiming to bridge the gap between culture and rights in socio-legal studies.
The research proposed over 24 months seeks to extend the ‘culture and rights’ debate in Social Anthropology through an ethnographic examination of how indigenous identity and self-image in Colombia is becoming politicised.
