This project examines the impact of non-elected political decision-making on public support for representative democracy. By analyzing citizen preferences and existing reforms across Europe, it seeks to understand whether these changes can revitalize political engagement.
Evidence of a growing disengagement of citizens from politics is multiplying.
Electoral turnout reaches historically low levels.
Anti-establishment and populist parties are on the rise.
