This project analyzes Italian cinema from 1943 to 1963 to explore the representation of young Italian men and how these portrayals reflect changing gender identities in post-war society. It aims to fill gaps in the understanding of masculinity and youth culture in this transformative period.
The present project aims to examine Italian cinema during the twenty-year period from 1943 to 1963 in relation to the construction of the image of the young Italian man.
