The DashWin project focuses on developing a non-destructive testing system for wind turbine blades using advanced shearography and robotics. This technology aims to enhance on-site inspection capabilities, improving maintenance and reliability in the wind energy sector.
Wind energy is a fast growing (>20% pa) industry worldwide and European companies have two-thirds of the share, according to European Wind Energy Association.
Due to the increase in wind farms, new techniques are required to provide maintenance and inspection of the wind installations with reduced cost and enhanced reliability.
