This project aims to develop a closed-loop deep brain stimulation system for treating Parkinson's disease. By automatically adjusting stimulation parameters, it seeks to enhance treatment efficacy and reduce side effects compared to traditional methods.
Over the past 25 years deep brain stimulation (DBS) has emerged as an effective treatment for the symptoms of Parkinson's disease (PD).
Despite its success, the mechanisms of DBS are not yet fully understood.
