This project explores the mechanisms of T cell activation through cross presentation by dendritic cells, focusing on the role of phagocytosis in cancer immunotherapy. It aims to develop new strategies for enhancing immune responses against tumors.
T cell cross priming (the initiation of CD8+ T cell responses to antigen that are not expressed by dendritic cells, DCs) requires the phagocytosis of antigens by DCs and their presentation on MHC class I molecules, a process referred to as “cross presentation”.
