The DDD project focuses on improving liquid-liquid extraction processes by understanding the dynamics of droplets in multicomponent fluid systems. This knowledge aims to optimize extraction efficiency and enhance applications in diagnostics, microanalysis, and chemical technology.
Liquid-liquid extraction - the transfer of a solute from one solvent to another - is a core process in chemical technology and analysis.
The current challenge is to miniaturise the analyte extraction process and to optimize the extraction recovery and preconcentration factor.
