This research aims to understand the dissolution of calcium carbonate in deep-sea sediments, which plays a crucial role in carbon dioxide sequestration. By simulating deep-sea conditions, the project seeks to uncover the mechanisms of this process.
As humanity grapples with the escalating crisis of climate change, understanding and mitigating the sources of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions is imperative.
A lesser-known yet significant aspect of this crisis lies in the vast expanses of marine sediments which encompass two-thirds of the Earths surface.
