This project investigates mineral phase transformations in the presence of fluids, using both natural and experimental samples. It aims to understand processes like chemical weathering and mineral replacement, which are important for applications in Earth sciences and industry.
In this ITN we investigate the mechanism of mineral reequilibration (phase transformation) in the presence of a fluid phase in a wide range of minerals and rocks, under a range of chemical and physical conditions, using both natural and experimental samples.
Interface-coupled dissolution-reprecipitation is a recently defined mechanism which applies to a wide range of mineral transformation phenomena.
