BrainSafe II aims to develop a non-invasive device for rapid and accurate measurement of intracranial pressure. This technology will significantly improve diagnosis and treatment of traumatic brain injury, potentially saving thousands of lives annually.
The BrainSafe II project builds upon a successful Research for the Benefit of SMEs project and will deliver an innovative technology for the autonomous, calibration free, non-invasive, rapid, accurate and precise absolute intracranial pressure (aICP) determination.
The resultant device will exhibit absolute intracranial pressure measurement to within SD = ± 2,5 mmHg.
The target time for the whole procedure is 9 minutes (compared with a current average 23 minutes).
