This project aims to develop a cost-effective and non-invasive DNA testing method for pedigree verification in animal breeding. By utilizing hair bulbs as a DNA source, the new methodology promises faster and more reliable results compared to traditional blood group testing.
The presented research proposal is foreseen as close collaboration of know-how university and animal breeding sector under the research leadership of experienced researcher.
Pedigree verification and identification by means of DNA testing in feasible, but not applied at the practical level yet.
