This project develops an automated microfluidic device coupled with a mass spectrometer to analyze single-cell metabolic profiles. It aims to understand how clonal cell populations, like E. coli and S. cerevisiae, adapt to nutrient stress and generate resistant phenotypes through metabolic feedback mechanisms.
Cells can display different variations in behavior toward different external cues.
