The DISCERN project aims to enhance the intelligence of medium and low voltage electricity distribution networks in Europe. By assessing replicable technological options, it seeks to improve network observability and controllability, ultimately facilitating the integration of renewable energy sources.
As the patterns of power generation and distribution are rapidly changing in Europe towards a highly dispersed and volatile system, Distribution System Operators need to completely change traditional ways of grid operations.
