This project investigates how social structures in ant colonies influence disease transmission and immune responses. By manipulating social networks and studying disease dynamics, it aims to understand the balance between personal immunity and collective health strategies in social insects.
Group-living has been predicted to have opposing effects on disease risk and immune strategies.
