This project aims to create a synthetic biocompatible material that can self-organize and transform its shape autonomously. By mimicking natural processes, it seeks to develop a programmable chemical network that can generate precise morphogen patterns, potentially advancing applications in soft robotics.
Programming the autonomous and multiscale structuring of shapeless synthetic soft matter is unknown and conceptually challenging.
In stark contrast, a living embryo is highly ordered at all levels – from cells to the entire organism.
