The DROUGHT-HEAT project investigates the interactions between land and climate, particularly focusing on soil moisture and vegetation's role in extreme weather events. It aims to improve climate models by integrating new observational data to better predict droughts and heatwaves.
Land-climate interactions mediated through soil moisture and vegetation play a critical role in the climate system, in particular for the occurrence of extreme events such as droughts and heatwaves.
