This project explores the cultural significance of disguise practices in music, particularly among crossdressed musicians in Morocco. It combines methodologies from ethnomusicology, historical musicology, clinical psychology, and anthropology to analyze the ritual aspects of sonic events.
This multidisciplinary exchange program aims to achieve at the same time one and variegated vision of disguise practices, concerning sonic events.
It is our belief that an explanation of such issues would enable to cast new light on what we consider one of the most founding elements of every cultural process: the ritual aspect.
