The DRYFIT project develops a natural plant conditioner that enhances crop resistance to drought and heat stress. Utilizing proline amino acid and salicylic acid, it improves water retention and protects against various abiotic stresses, aiming to boost agricultural productivity in Europe.
Drought and extreme heat events cause 25% of crop losses in Europe, and reduce availability of irrigation water for agriculture, leading to severe economic impact on farmer’s income.
