The dustbinMOF project aims to develop advanced Metal-Organic Frameworks (MOFs) for environmental remediation, specifically targeting the capture and degradation of harmful pollutants. The project involves designing, synthesizing, and characterizing new MOFs to enhance their adsorptive and catalytic properties.
Environmental pollution has progressively increased, becoming today a real danger for nature and particularly humankind.
Nanoporous solids, in particular Metal–Organic Framework (MOFs), have shown to be materials with large capacities and high potentials for environmental remediation.
In this regard, the outperforming adsorptive and catalytic properties of MOFs can be exploited in a synergetic way to capture and degrade highly harmful substances.
