This project focuses on developing new methods for organic synthesis using alcohols as a source of functionalized carbon atoms. By overcoming challenges in cross-coupling reactions, it aims to create complex organic structures more sustainably and efficiently, contributing to advancements in drug discovery.
Transition metal-catalysed cross-coupling reactions are considered landmark achievements in organic synthesis; thus, a modern organic chemist’s toolbox is filled with methods building C(sp2)-C(sp2) bonds.
