This project investigates the role of mutualistic root-endosymbionts in enhancing nitrogen and phosphorus availability for crops. It aims to improve plant growth and resilience to climate change by studying the molecular interactions between plants and their symbiotic partners.
Nitrogen (N) and phosphorous (P) are essential for all aspect of plant growth.
As a paradox, they are poorly available in soil, leading to extensive use of fertilisers to fulfil the demand of a growing population.
