The ECCLES project aims to reduce uncertainties in climate projections by studying land-climate interactions through the concept of Emergent Constraints. It focuses on understanding how changes in the land biosphere affect climate feedback mechanisms.
The Land Biosphere is a critical component of the Earth System, linking to climate through multiple feedback processes.
Understanding these feedback processes is a huge intellectual challenge.
