ECMAP focuses on understanding fibrosis through a novel approach that mimics dynamic tissue interactions. By studying focal adhesion kinase signaling under mechanical forces, it aims to enhance drug discovery and monitoring of fibrosis.
Fibrosis, characterized by tissue stiffening and altered FAK signaling patterns, is highly prevalent in Europe and places a significant financial burden on our healthcare system.
