This project investigates how ecological conditions influence the absence of lipid synthesis in parasitic wasps. By examining gene transcription and nutrient dynamics, it aims to understand the costs and benefits of this metabolic strategy, linking molecular mechanisms to ecological contexts.

The consistency with which organisms invest in nutrient storage, in particular lipids, makes it remarkable that numerous parasitic insects lack lipid synthesis.
