Eddy Rich Earth System Models (EERIE) aims to enhance Earth System Models by incorporating ocean mesoscale dynamics. The project focuses on improving climate simulations, achieving faster processing speeds, and reducing energy consumption, while also developing innovative protocols for climate modeling.
Eddy Rich Earth System Models (EERIE) will develop a new generation of Earth System Models (ESMs) that are capable of explicitly representing a crucially important, yet unexplored regime of the Earth system, the ocean mesoscale.
