EFFACE addresses environmental crime by assessing its costs and impacts within the EU and proposing policy options to combat it. The project aims to fill the information gap on environmental crime and enhance coordination among actors involved in enforcement and policy-making.
Environmental crime is a threat to environmental, social and economic sustainability and is in conflict with key commitments and strategies of the European Union, including the Europe 2020 Strategy. EFFACE will propose effective and feasible policy options for the EU to combat environmental crime.
