This project focuses on developing an advanced recycling process for mixed plastics, significantly enhancing recycling rates from 14% to 60-85%. By utilizing a bio-based cleaning method, it aims to reduce waste and energy consumption while providing a cost-effective alternative to landfilling.
Owing to their combination of unrivaled properties and low cost, plastics are the workhorse material of the modern economy.
While delivering many benefits, the current plastics economy has drawbacks that are becoming more apparent by the day.
