The ELEMENT project aims to enhance tidal energy performance by developing an innovative control system that uses the turbine as a sensor. By integrating advanced modeling and artificial intelligence, it seeks to optimize energy yield and reduce operational costs, making tidal energy more commercially viable.
In the ELEMENT project, a partnership of world-leading academic, industrial and research organisations will develop and validate an innovative tidal turbine control system, using the tidal turbine itself as a sensor, to deliver a step change improvement in the performance of the tidal energy sector.
