The ObjectBox project aims to enable edge computing by providing a fast and secure data storage and synchronization solution for IoT devices. This technology allows data to be processed locally, reducing reliance on cloud services and improving real-time data management.
Data volumes are exploding due to IoT devices, which push cloud-based solutions and Internet bandwidth to their limits.
Currently, 90% of enterprise data is sent to the cloud to be stored and processed.
This number will drop to just 25% due to the limitations of cloud computing.
In the future, 75% of that data will be stored and used on the device it was created on.
This is called edge computing.
