This project investigates the concept of 'emptiness' in post-socialist regions, exploring the socio-political implications of abandoned spaces. It aims to understand how narratives of emptiness affect governance and community responses in areas experiencing economic decline.
This project proposes to study “emptiness” as a concrete historical formation that has emerged in conditions when socialist modernity is gone and promises of capitalist modernity have failed.
