This project investigates enantioselective metal enolate alkylation reactions using cooperative catalysis. The goal is to develop a new methodology for generating asymmetry in organic synthesis, which could lead to biologically relevant products and significant advancements in synthetic chemistry.
The reaction between a metal enolate ion and an alkyl halide (or equivalent) electrophile is one of the most useful process for the formation of carbon-carbon bond in organic synthesis.
