This project aims to address energy efficiency challenges in future communication networks, particularly for 5G and 6G technologies. By analyzing energy use trends and developing sustainable operational strategies, it seeks to enhance the efficiency of these networks while supporting broader sustainability goals.
The communication networks of the future are expected to manage an explosive demand for connectivity and be sufficiently robustto deliver on all the promised benefits of 5G and 6G. A significant challenge to achieving such ambitions is the “energy crunch”: theuse of increased power will inevitably create problems for enhancing bandwidth.
