This project enhances the material point method to simulate fluid-structure interactions and erosion. It specifically investigates the effects of dumping a geocontainer into flowing water and its impact on the seafloor, alongside studying basic erosion problems using the developed method.
In the framework of the proposed cooperation between Deltares and Technical University of Lodz, the material point method will be enhanced to allow for the simulation of fluid-structure interaction and erosion.
The dumping of a geocontainer into flowing water and its impact on the seafloor will be investigated with this generalised MPM.
