The ENSUREAL project aims to enhance the competitiveness of the European aluminium industry by developing new technologies for alumina production. It focuses on valorizing all streams of the alumina industry to reduce dependency on imports.
Global alumina production capacity is forecast to grow by 30% over the next ten years.
Unfortunately, Europe cannot keep the competition and is highly dependent on imported alumina and bauxite.
