The ENVISION project focuses on improving air traffic management at regional airports by utilizing advanced surveillance technologies like CCTV and LIDAR. This initiative aims to enhance safety and efficiency in airport operations while making such systems more affordable for smaller airports.
The constant growth of air traffic will put regional and local airports under ever more pressure for increasing their capacity.
However, safety and efficiency gains allowed by the deployment of A-SMGCS systems currently remain out of most small to medium size platforms’ reach because of prohibitive infrastructure costs.
